with one percent of the votes in it's a tie between mr. long elegant fingers and mrs. cries at breakfast with the hairball bringing up the rear.
on the gop side it's everyone's favorite angry old man in the lead with the preacher trailing and insane constitution posse tied with the man with twelve wives for third.
CNN on one TV and MSNBC on the other. No homework gettin' done tonight.
I found this bullet point on CNN pretty funny:
Positions on issues swayed Democrats but Republicans picked on personality, survey found
heh. that's good, diva.
at 5% now mr. elegant fingers and the crybaby are neck and neck with hair pulling the caboose.
angry man's still leading, but now polygamy's in 2nd with the preacher behind and the combover gaining fast.
Ack. I am still at work - will not make it home before the polls close, because I am a very nice (pushover) person and gave a placement at 4:15 -- that and, the girl is hot, smells very good and is quite clever-- based on her scores so far. So I will see the inital votes come in on the NYT's site. Fortunately I should make it home by the time the campaigns start the Spin Cycle which is always the best part.
rad, abcnews gets the results up faster. actually of all the news sites they seem to have the fastest results. cbs and the times are at the same pace, behind abc and msnbc hasn't even posted any yet. cnn won't work for me for some reason which is just as well as i hate them.
and grandpa fred is already in SC
God almighty, she barely teared up, can these pundits talk about ANYTHING ELSE?
wait, wait, is Hillary 2 points ahead right now? That's what CNN is saying.
Thanks for the heads up papa!
jav, that's admiral painter. we never use names. tsk, tsk.
at 8% now and crybaby's opened up a two point lead on fingers with the hairball at half their pace.
gop's unchanged.
Initial results are much closer than anyone anticipated - at least between Obama and Clinton.
She is actually leading by a few hundred votes. But, only 9% have reported.
Edwards is about 20 points behind.
geek, i think these guys are faster than the tv or as fast.
abcnews in nh
Wait, wait wait, papa.....I thought Paul was the angry man. ....Can't actually believe Clinton's leading right now. I'm shocked.
Remember, Iowas totals were almost a three way tie for the Dem's. It's ALWAYS been close.
no, that's insane constitution posse.
it's not gonna be no three way this time, diva. edwards is well behind and i have a feeling he's gonna stay there.
Thanks, papa, but it's so much more sporting-event-esque when you watch it on TV.
I am shocked and happy (I must admit, in a bit of a vindictive way) that Hillary is doing this well, at least for the moment. We'll see. Obama really needs to be taken down a peg right now.
you heard it here, folks, geek wants to peg obama.
some of the polls don't even close for another few minutes too.
and we're back.
crybaby's up by four over fingers and hairball's way, way back.
they're calling it for angry man with only 17% in with the polygamist 2nd and preacherman 3rd.
the angry elf has more total votes than admiral painter.
no change in the standings at 26% reporting in.

What I'm really noticing is where the Independents seem to be voting. The state is listed with 26% Dems, 30% Repubs and 44% Indies. Even though the Repubs slightly outnumber the Dems, the Dems are getting much higher total votes. It would seem to me that the Indies are making their choice of overall philosophy - if not specific candidate - very clear.
I'll be curious to see if this trend continues. If it indicates a national feeling, the Dems are more assured the White House - no matter the eventual nominee.
dg, in '04 the dems outnumbered the gop in nh's primary 219,787 to 67,833. i can only hope that a similar turnout produces as similar a result as the '04 election.

papa - do you know if the Independents showed such imbalance in other states in '04 - or is N.H. the aberration?
well, i know the independents split almost even in totals for '04, but as far as in the primaries? dunno.
another thing to bear in mind, dg, the breakdown by party id in '04 ended up 37/37/36 for dem/gop/ind. i believe at the time it was estimated that the independents would be far an away the biggest bunch. as they always are and as they rarely end up being.
DG -- it's a growing national trend..but there are only a few states where they are growing to majorities.
I know here at home Arizona independents are counted well into the mid 30's now and expected top become the majority before the end of the decade. Indeed neither Party has gained any substantial membership here since 2000 despite a huge population increase during the same years.
Anyway..back down to the TV....as geek said...it's much more exciting to watch it unfold.
Was deeply disappointed in MiCs speech. Lack luster perhaps I will go so far as to say dull. Granted I've said Mic is a lot of things but definitely not either of those.
