So... I have to get one... and my voice is my meal ticket pretty much for the rest of my life.... I'm really excited for all the new resonance space, lack of over-nasality... but I'm also terrified that it'll change things for the worse...

can you guys share your experiences? Or.. share stories to help me?

it's a mix of the two really.

I mean if they botch this surgery, I have to find another major...

I wouldn't worry--Pauline Byrne had a tonsilectomy and adenoidectomy and it didn't affect her popularity any.

I had my tonsils out 5 years ago. Unfortunately it totally changed my singing voice. I used to be a tenor, but overnight became a bass.

I'd take up the matter with your doctor or another doctor informed on the issue. I'd assume it's different for every singer.
