Does anyone know of any up-tempo baritone songs that's comic that I could use for college auditions? My range is an low E to a high G and an A or B on really good days lol. But I want a song that's funny that I can really really act out because i'm a character actor! So I want a funny song that allows me to act and have fun but also has some powerful money notes?

the only one i can think off off the top of my head is "Where Is the Life That Late I Led?" it's pretty comical. i'll have to think it over.

It's one of my favorite songs (and one I may use), but it doesn't show off your higher range.

JRB isn't usually good for auditions because it's hard to play for the pianist at first sight
One of the funniest character songs for baritone I can think of is "Guido's Song" from Nine..."Ilona" from She Loves Me is fun...both are in Vol. 2 of Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology.
"Last One Picked" from Whoop-dee-doo and "The Kid Inside" from Is There Life After High School are also fun choices and they are both found in Vol 3.
Hope this helps!
are most of these pre-1960 i know for college they said on requirements it had to me standard musical theatre repertoire!
"Try Me" from SHE LOVES ME. It can't be beat. Perfect.
Anything from She Loves Me is fantastic - and it should meet audition requirements.

What about "My Unfortunate Erection" from 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee? It's a really funny song and I THINK the highest note is an A flat.
You could also sing "I'm not that smart". The highest note is for sure an A but it's a note that you can falsetto and it still totally works with the song.
Crap, I just saw your post about it being pre-1960. These songs definitely arent. Oh well. They're still great songs that you could probably sing.
lol yeah!!! I need something that shows range...and yet is funny and allows you to act with it and just make people laugh but still have a wow vocal factor!

I would suggest anything from SHE LOVES ME... Like 'Tonight at Eight"
And "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" was written by Tom Lehrer
Aaron
I do like that song poisoning piegons...but is that from a show? I've looked everywhere and the only thing i could find was the guy who wrote the song not which show it was from.

I'm in Love Again from Baker's Wife.
Very funny uptempo and good money note at beginning and end.
Does anyone on here own the "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" sheet music?
