walkout at school today

Today there's a walkout a bit after 10. The reasons are for many (outsourcing security guards, the 8-period schedule for the future students, and the 'racist' remarks made by our principal).

I'm still thinking about joining my fellows. Wish me luck.

Do you live in Texas?
Here in Texas there are hispanic students walking out of schools because of the new Immigration laws that are trying to get passed.
Personally, I think it's ridiculous. If you KNOW what you are protesting for, go for it! 75% of those kids have no idea what's going on. It's just an excuse to "look cool" and get out of class. And students like ME have to suffer.

i live in TEXAS i think its hilarious. you wanna hear what happened. a bagillion students walked out of school yesterday and they all just like went to chilis. haha

It's crazy. Most of the students recieved an unexcused absense, and rightfully so.

A bunch of students walked out of some of the other schools here in Vegas too. It's ridiculous... I bet a quarter of them at most actually know what they're protesting. Walking out of school isn't an effective way to combat the immigration bill.

I just saw a coming attraction for the news and it mentioned a walkout becuase of a principal's racial statement. I immediatly thought of this thread..I guess it was your school.
