i'm laughing hysterically at these responses. but i'm very sleep deprived.

when she moved in (maybe 11 or 12 years ago) she wasn't like this, i really think she's getting senile or something. this is the same lady who yelled at our cat for sitting in one of her flower beds. not that the cat cared or listened or got upset or even acknowledged her. but the dog does get upset.
we don't share a driveway, our driveway separates our front yards, and her driveway is on the other side of her house. so our driveway borders her front yard. she also doesn't like that my brother has two cars (a truck for work, and a nice car he saved up for) because it means that even if no one is home, there's still a car in the driveway and that makes the neighborhood look trashy. or something.

i looked through those letters you can send but i didn't find a "you're crazy, maybe it's time to check into a retirement home" letter.

i'm not sure we have noise laws... when i was in a band we used to practice in the front yard, amps and everything (all plugged in to one long, dangerous extension cord, ah la RENT), and another neighbor (across the street) makes getting hammered and blasting 80's music a regular part of her day in the summer... no one has ever called the cops because of the noise. for the most part, my neighborhood is really friendly.

Honestly, some people just aren't fond of dogs or animals for that matter. I know for myself I dislike animals so much just because I have a big phobia of them, big or small, but I would never act like your neighbor.

Hmm...this is a hard one. I think you two just need to come up with a peaceful compromise that'll satsfy every party involved. :)

She sounds like the Wicked Witch of the West.
Next time she starts tell her you are hoping for a tornado so a house can fall on her. I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too!

When I was growing up I had a Cairn Terrier that looked like Toto and there was a very nasty woman in my line that hated my dog and she used to tell the building we should not take him in the elevator. My sister and I always though of her as the Wicked Witch of the West because she always took her Bike into the elevator and wore weird hats. I told her to leave my dog alone or I would talk to the Coop board and she tried to get dogs to use the service elevator. Lucky for me most of the board loved and had small dogs so they told her she should use the service elevator if she did not like dogs. She stopped talking to my family which was fine by us. We moved out years ago but I live in the same area and she still rides her bike and when she does I always do that scary theme song of her as the Wicked Witch of the West.
