I should sing for my last-minute Wizard of Oz audition? I'm auditioning for Dorothy or Glinda.
"Ribbons Down my Back" from Hello, Dolly!
"Home" from Beauty and the Beast
"Gimme Gimme" from TMM
"Tonight" from Westside Story or
"If I loved You" from Carousel

I actually know gimme gimme the best and I'm really good at it, but what always happens is when I audition with that song the people think I can belt and that's it, you know? They don't know I have an upper register! So I want to sing something that shows off both, but too bad it's kind of last-minute

how did the ELEEMOSENARY (sp?) audition go?
It's not for another week, but I decided to do a monologue from the Effect of Gamma Rays(very good suggestion!) It's the whole atom speech Tillie does in the beginning.
that's a great speech and a good choice! for this musical audition, my suggestion is prep "Ribbons" (better for Glinda) and "Home" (better for Dorothy) and ask them which they'd like to hear. Especially if they have heard you belt "Gimme" already.
