Wow... it's gonna be on expensive year at the theater. Between the 5th and Paramount I'll end up in the poor house.

SO glad to see that this next season is going to be better than the current one. Not very good in my opinion.

The Paramount is a horrible venue for Spelling Bee. If you are going, try to get seats as close as possible. It is such an intimate show, and I"m sure the further back you are, they less you'll enjoy it. Same with Piazza but not quite as bad.

I'm especially excited for Doubt, Evita, Company, West Side, Tommy, Rachel Corrie, and Cry-Baby.

Bobby's got it right. Any show that's supposed to have any semblance of intimacy won't work at the Paramount. Spelling Bee would be horrible more than 15-20 rows back, and Piazza will loose a lot too. That's what happened when I saw Urinetown come through. So disappointing.

It should also be noted that Seattle Rep's Doubt is the first original regional production, not the tour with Jones.

Which makes me really sad. I would have died to see Jones.

Me too, but I'm sure it will still be a superb production since Rep tends to cast out of town. I can't think of a local actress (maybe Marianne Owen) who could pull off the part.

Does anyone have any information on Edward Scissorhands? I've never heard of this staged as a musical (though there was the ballet in London), and the idea unnerves me a little.

This is the Matthew Bourne ballet, but he's billing it as a more musical/theatrical event because he thinks people are turned off by the term "ballet."
