110 5/12 Matinee

We saw it yesterday & I now have to revise my statement re the Best Musical Revival. 110 is the best revival in this or many a year

Audra was great and, dare I say it, deseves the Tony over Ebersole. I liked her performance better & will be rooting for her come Tony Night

The supporting cast was great especially Steve Kazee as Starbuck. He looks like Johnny Depp & his voice is powerful. We look forward to the cast album which is supposed to be out early June

Sadly ,Callum cannot exercise his singing that much as he has no solos. He is pefect for his role however as Audra's father. The staging was great & the supporting cast was uniformly excellant. I can definitely see this extending. While Ebersole basically carries GG, Kazee gives Audra a run for her money & the show itself is much better in every way

After the performance, there was a Q & A with Filchia of Theatermania. Most of the stories he told I knew but his background on 110 was fascinating. He confirmed there will be no Apple Tree recording

See 110 as Audra raises the temperature on stage. I see a 5 th Tony in the not to distant future for her bravura performance.

We liked both & neither one of us will be disappointed in the other's choices wins

The material to me is not lacking & thank God they revived it instead of the umpteenth Man of La Mancha or Guys & Dolls

According to Filichia, the reason they left the Overture off the original LP was that 51 seconds into it, there was a really horrible bad note by an orchestra member . When they put it on CD, they decided to put it on bad note & all

Would Roundabout please fix up Studio 54 & rename it. The theater is in need of a paint job & whole sections of the plasterwork on the proscenium are missing. The sightlines are great & by refurbishing it it would be so much better. i would volunteer my time to help

Roma Torre on NY 1 now says that Audra has a real shot @ winning # 5 on Tony Night. She just gave an unqualified rave to 100 & Audra in particular.

By the way, I listened to the Overture on 110 & at about the 58 second mark a musician did indeed hit a very audible clinker

I wonder what the choreography was like in the original as it was done by Agnes De Mille.

I will be more satisfied if this wins REvival over Company rather than McDonald over Ebersole.

me too :) ..HOWEVER I at least find Christine's performance to be worthy competition
