Okay. Yes. You saw the title. I know that they are WAYYYYYYYYY different and I am yet to see "13", but they are both about teenagers. They both feature teenagers. They are popular with teenagers (well, not that "13" is popular, but I'm guessing that a considerable percent of their audience is under 19). They both feature a pop-rock type score. They both annoy me when they use the word "totally" (I saw the "13" BWW video preview and they use it a few times). Yes, "13" does not have excessive profanity or sex scenes, but I've heard that some of it's dialogue was questionable for a show about middle school. So, what do you think?

It's dialouge? If it was really written how middle schoolers spoke today you would hear... f*uck, b*itch, blow job, hooking up/getting with etc.
The only thing questionable is that they toned it down for the audience. 13 is nothing like Spring Awakening. I had trouble sitting through Spring Awakening, and I loved 13!
You use the word "guess" in your post... yea, guessed wrong.
Geez, everyone I try to be nice to on these boards has been annoying me tonight!
They are exactly the same show.
Only one doesn't have a bare breast and left buttock.
why don't you see the shows first before you try to draw comparisons...uhhh
Spring Awakening is a brilliant show. 13 is a disaster.
I absolutely love 13 and am not a huge fan of Spring Awakening. One comparison you gave was that they both use teens in their cast. Sure, some of the Spring Awakening cast are teens but back during the OBC of Spring Awakening there were definitely a few cast members that were not teens and did not look like teens. 13 uses teenagers (and not 19 year olds, I'm talking tennagers truly in the thick of it) with legitimate talent. Not to mention, the band filled with only teenagers. Also, I would consider the score completely different. While I do enjoy both scores, I think 13 is much more listenable. 13 is a fun show, while Spring Awakening is a serious show. They are both on Broadway, but the real similarities stop there.

Must RENT always be brought up? It's gone, get over it! Spring Awakening was written long before RENT, and 13 has nothing to even relate to it.
Last time I checked Hunter Parrish was 21... not a teenager.
There are only two shows I haven't enjoyed on Broadway, Spring Awakening was one of them. 13 is one of my favorites.
