Hey Guys! I'm new and have a question:
For Christmas I receieved $15 to iTunes. I want to spend in on a new show. Past favorites include:
Caroline or Change
Ave. Q
Wicked
Last 5 years
A man of no importance
Rent
Secret Garden
Into the Woods
Les Mis
Miss. Siagon
So kind of a large range of classic and new shows. Any ideas on what to get? I was looking at John and Jen. anyone heard of/ like that? Or Sideshow or Bounce...
Thanks

You get Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner, Hugh Panaro, Jeff McCarthy, Ken Jennings (no, not the guy from Jeopardy!:))and most importantly...Norm Lewis. If you liked the shows you listed, you'd dig SideShow.:)

Posted: 1/13/05 at 12:31pmI feel it's my solemn duty to tell you, I borrowed the Side Show CD from the library last week and I couldn't even listen to the whole thing. It's like ALW that's unmemorable- really bad pop, in other words. The talent on that CD is tremendous, but it's wasted. I haven't listened to the other 2 CDs you mention, but if you want another Sondheim you can try Assassins or A Little Night Music, or you can go for My Fair Lady if you want a classic. Falsettoland is a favorite of mine, too. Don't know if you already have those. :)

A NEW BRAIN is what you want... andrew

be sure to buy the whole album for $9.99 and not the songs individually at $.99 each!

Assassins (either one, both are great)
Little Shop of Horrors
Taboo
The Producers
Urinetown
tick, tick... BOOM!
Thoroughly Modern Millie
You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (revival)
Chicago
Phantom of the Opera
Just a few you'd like based on your list you gave. Also, if I may suggest another (free) one, I highly recommend Bare: A Pop Opera. You can download the 11-song sampler below ![]()

Posted: 1/13/05 at 10:11pmreally, john and jen is not worth it at all... i really thought i was going to love it and well, i just didn't... it's really quite boring, cliche and melodramatic... and carolee carmello's voice, am i the only one who finds that vibrato so awful? i can't even deal with it... needless to say... i think it would be a complete waste of your money... as i said before, a new brain... if you really like the ones you've listed in your original post you will absolutely love a new brain... it would be a million times a better investment for you than john and jen... either way, let me know what you do get and we can discuss it then! andrew
