Hey,
I'm in my mid 20's and have an audition for 1776 coming up. Any advice on what to sing or what shows to look at? They don't want to hear anything from the show.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks much!

Posted: 10/9/06 at 3:29pmI just finished a run of this show this past summer. I think any standard broadway song would work for an audition for this. Preferably, one that shows off your vocal range and legit voice. Are you a tenor, baritone, bass? Are you looking to audition for a specific part?

How about
"Nothing Without You" from City of Angels
"Agony" from Into The Woods

Are they casting the show age appropriately, or is it a high school show casting a 17 year old as John Adams?
Depending on the answer, what you should audition with will change.

No, this professional company will for sure cast age appropriate.
Thanks for the suggestions thus far...I'm keeping a tab on all of them =)

So really, you can only play two roles - both of which sing in "Mama, Look Sharp" and nothing else.
I would choose something melodic and slow. I will try and think of something good.
