1988 Ain't Misbehavin' revival

I saw the Ain't Misbehavin revival shortly after it opened, and was quite surprised when my friends and I got front row center orchestra seats from TKTS that day. The show was wonderful. In looking at IBDB, I didn't realize it only played a few months, plus the original cast was replaced at some point. Was this a limited engagement to being with?

Didn’t this production arrive on Broadway after an international tour, if memory serves me correctly this was after the Australian tour ended
