I decided to ditch "One Day More" this year, as I've been on a different kick.
So, with profound apologies to Mr. Loesser.
STEW, LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA, NICK BLAEMIRE (reading a copy of William Goldman’s “The Season”)
It says here:
The eager upcoming writer
Practically unproduced
If he’s brave and determined to succeed
will struggle with his creation
hopin’ to get the boost:
TransFERRing the work to Broadway with utmost speed
In other words, just from spllin’ his guts ‘bout his troubles of long ago
A person can develop a show
MEL BROOKS
You can price it however you want to and hope the tourists pay
JOHN BUCCHINO
You can work on a score that’s a terrible bore ‘bout a guy that’s gay
DANIEL BREAKER
If you’re willing to squander your hearing at a pot cafe
A person can develop a show
PATTI LUPONE, KELLI O’HARA, JENNA RUSSELL (reading the same)
It says here:
Revivals remaining hopeful
Poised for a Tony win
Show a surprising freshness and respect
LAURA BENANTI
Even with cuts and puppets
THE GHOST OF JEROME ROBBINS
Where would a guy begin?
ARTHUR LAURENTS
Thank god for the fact I’ll once again direct
STEVEN SATER AND DUNCAN SHIEK, smugly
In other words, just from worrying if your musical’s rock or pop
JAMES GARDINER AND NICK BLAEMIRE
A person can develop a flop
CAST OF XANADU
You can tempt all the fates with a pair of your skates and a jukebox score
ROB ASHFORD
Or the dancing is perfectly marvelous so we can all ignore
BOTH
that your show ain’t at all the original type, but they beg for more
A person could develop a flop
LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA (rapping)
But also, yo, just from rapping and rapping
and makin’ it sound legit
a person can develop a hit
PRODUCERS OF GREASE AND LEGALLY BLONDE
When you’re casting from votes by the public
well, you can forget your pride
PRODUCERS OF ALL SHOWS
With a strike in the midst of your season
you take all in stride
STEPHEN SONDHEIM
And you weep for theatre’s future, as a small aside
A person could develop a hit
a hit
as years may permit
with ovations
complications
BARTLETT SHER
and an opening in your pit
ALL
In a year when a play wins the Pulitzer
And a plateful of chewy crow
A person can develop a bad, bad show.

Great job, Walt!
Very nice work, very very funny.
I might have to make one of these for myself, that is if you don't mind.
