3/8 God of Carnage and Stage Door; it's all good!

It's hard to imagine anybody not thoroughly enjoying this one, I sure did, from my first row center discounted seat 3/8 God of Carnage and Stage Door; it's all good! Gandolfini, Harden, Davis and Daniels are such pros, and they are really having the time of their life with this material, tearing up each other and the stage and keeping me on the edge of my seat for ninety minutes. Gandolfini, when greeted by a throng of fans as he emerged from the alley in a hoodie and flip-flops, couldn't have been nicer and told everybody to relax, making time for everyone who'd waited. At the stage door on the other side, his fellow actors were equally gracious...Hope Davis agreed that it was all very Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf-ish, "but with more humor," and Harden told someone not to jinx her when they predicted a Tony. It's hard to imagine this is not going to be a solid hit of the spring, though; while it's not an amazing play, it is quite good, and it's so damn enjoyable watching these actors spar that it'll be a hot ticket...

Where is the stage door for this? Is it further down in that area where performers from Phantom also come out, next to Avenue Q? I plan on catching this production and the stage door is too hard to resist.

The show received the Best New Comedy at the Oliviers today.

Gandolfini comes out the alley by Avenue Q; as you leave the theater, you go to the left. The other three come out the traditional stage door to the right as you exit. As luck and timing would have it, I was able to do both...first the alley, then the door. They were all delightful.

Thank you for the response! So, Gandolfini comes out quickly and then the others come out the stage door not too long after that?

That's only what happened this afternoon...I'm sure it varies, but I was lucky with it today.

It's great that you had such a terrific stage door experience - I have my fingers crossed for this Wednesday's matinee that I'll be attending as well!

You mentioned that you had first row center discounted seating - are they using rows AA and BB for the show? I haven't spotted those tickets on sale anywhere, just starting with row A (third row) Orchestra instead. Are those first two rows only being sold day of show at the box office?

Hey Radio--
No, I think I got my tickets about ten days before the show, and was shocked to see Row AA come up...it convinced me not to TDF for this one and spend a bit more...everyone else I spoke to sitting in my row had used the discount code as well. I remember for Frost/Nixon, the Jacobs set aside the first row for the student rush, but I guess not this time. It is such a low stage, that they're great seats, I was surprised I was allowed to get one for $66 or whatever it vost!
