Hi! This is my first post here. My name's Luiz, I'm Brazilian and even though I don't work with theater, I like it very much. I go to NY twice (sometimes 3x) a year and always try to catch up with as many shows as possible (spending all my savings in the process =( ), but that's not really what my first post is about.
I've just seen the post about "Lady in the Dark" and it made me do a little research on her. I was really surprised to discover that Lawrence was Broadway's first Amanda (Private Lives)! Such a nice role. So my instant thought was "well, if there had been a Tony back then, she would've totally won. So, do you guys feel the same way? I saw some other options on IBDb but I have no idea if they had the same impact; Katharine Cornell in "The Barretts of Wimpole Street", Eva Le Gallienne in "Camille", Jane Cowl in "Twelfth Night" and Eugenie Leontovich in "Grand Hotel".
So if they'd been the nominees, who do you think would've won?
Hugs from Brazil!
