I can't easily recall so many shows playing at once, although I know about two years ago, every theatre on Broadway was booked. Only the Brooks Atkinson, Eugene O'Neill and the Broadway are empty, and all three have shows on the way this summer, as does the soon to be empty Music Box. Not everything playing is exemplary, not everything will survive awards season, but it's worth pausing and considering the general good health of the theatre, especially compared to other industries in post-9/11 New York that have never quite recovered.

Absolutely. This is a very strong and healthy time for Broadway as we head into awards season and summer. Off-Broadway has also spawned several hits as well (Spelling Bee, Doubt, Altar Boyz etc...). Very nice.

Sweeney Todd is going into the O'Neill.

Primo is going into the Music Box.

The Suzanne Somers show and then Odd Couple into the Brooks Atkinson.

Mambo Kings into the Broadway.
