Went to NYC saw three shows n here are my reviews!
THE PRODUCERS-Oscar n Bart Very funny musical, both leads were fantastic but I was not as blown away as what i thought i would be. I think Hairspray is a much more entertaining show.
CHICAGO I think this show is getting very tired, I saw it with the original cast and it just had so much energy. Now it kinda just floats along. Slowly, very slowly
LION KING Second time seeing this and the second time wondering how this show beat out Ragtime out of the TONY. Great sets and all but songs kin of boring and overall not that great of a show
GYPSY My first timing seeing this version of the show(seen Langsbury & Daly) Bernadette Peters was Terrific I dont understand how people cannot like her in this musical. Yes, her voice is not as strong as the ppl who have had the roles before but she makes you feel sorry for her, she brings such strong emotion to the role. And Rose's Turn WOW That song brought chills to my spine. As you can tell Gypsy was my favorite show by FAR. Supporting cast was awesome 2 Dosset and Blanchard. GO SEE THIS SHOW!!
I'm glad you liked "Gypsy" as much as I. I saw "Chicago" with Ms. Melanie Griffith, so I can't really judge the whole show because there was a great deal of choreography missing. I enjoyed it a lot, though and would love to see it again. Perhaps if Charlotte D'Amboise returns. Anywho, I liked "The Lion King," but I don't think I'd see it again. I'm a huge fan of "The Producers." I saw it with Lewis J. Stadlen and Don Stephenson (very funny) and with Mr. Lane and Mr. Broderick. Fantastic.
Glad you had a good time!
