How are yours scary?
Think "Copacabana" - real Las Vegas showgirl stylee. Mine is a blue (backless) thong leotard with silver beading there is NOTHING down my sides until my hips where the crotch is attached to the rest by a hook-and-eye fastening either side and it has a SERIOUSLY low neckline. Then I have a 3ft tall headress (glittery Greek-helmet-kinda-thing with 4 feather boas in blue & white attached which trail down my back). I also have feathers attached at my shoulders trailing down to the floor.
Other girls have full-length flesh coloured bodystockings with sequins covering the boobs and crotch and the odd sequin on the arms and legs (kinda á la Britney's TOXIC costume) with a see-thru coat w/feathered cuffs & hem over the top.
*shudders*
Both the original production of 42nd Street and the revival did the same thing for the "Dames" dresses...with the colors moving gradually from light to dark hues in each shade. The original ones were a little more muted than the very bright colors in the revival.

when we did 42nd street, the dames dresses were nothing special. just plain prom/ formal looking dresses from the 30-ish era. But the broadway company- wow. those dresses are incredible.

Well, here's me in my "Dames" costume for the finale. And may I just say it was my idea of a costume from hell!

Oh hunny, I'm so sorry that you have to wear that! Your pretty and you look fine in the costume if that makes you feel any better!
*blush* Thanks guys.
Beaver, eveningwear is what we all pictured before the costume call the week before the production started! We did have a lot of fun trying to work out which way the feathers went on, though.
Where is this production taking place? That costume is so NOT period looking at all. You poor thing. You do look fab, though!!!
I liked the Dames gowns in the original production as opposed to those in the current revival.
It was an amateur production in Lichfield, UK. We had a week-long run ending last Sat.
