42nd Street Tour

Just would like to hear some thought about the current tour. Going to see the show tommororw in Tx and I'm really excited.

It's non-Equity. I saw the Equity version. The plot is kind of thin, but the amazing tap dancing makes up for it! Loved the music, loved the dancing...you will have fun!

Well, sorry to be the debbie downer of the group, but I hated the tour. I went in with high expectations, but it just let me down. I thought the production qualities weren't great. Its just a bunch of drops and not much set. Some of the acting was horrible - the older male lead, the director, can't remember his name. And I thought the overall story was just dumb. And I'm not much of a dancer, so the dancing didn't do much for me at all. But who knows, go see it, its always great to see as much theater as you can. I'm glad I went. It made me a appreciate contemporary theater a lot more. Let me know what ya think!

42nd Street isn't about the story AT ALL. It's about the dancing, and the showiness. Don't go expecting an intellectually stimulating night at the theater - go expecting a showy spectacle with toe-tapping numbers and eye-popping dance numbers - you'll enjoy yourself.

I guess that was my problem. I expected it to be an overall great show. I didnt even think the dancing was all that special.
