I was wondering if anybody knew what the protocol is for talks hosted by 92nd Street Y at the Kaufmann Concert Hall. I have a ticket to see Ben Platt & Michael Greif on Sunday at 7:30pm. The website says to arrive 30 minutes before the event. I'm guessing there's going to be quite a few people there, so I imagine I'll show up much earlier. I wanted to see if anybody knew how it worked there, especially since this particular event doesn't have designated seating. Do people get to pick where they're sitting, or are people corraled in? Any insights would be great, thanks!

I don't think there's really early seating so I'd try to get in the line when it starts forming. The only time I've been in that room I've had an assigned seat. But for another show I went to in a different room in the building, they just let you sit wherever you wanted.

I've been there twice for talks and they different types of tickets: VIP seating (more expensive) and general. They might be called something different, I don't remember. There will then be two lines, with the VIP lines left in first and the rest left in right after. There is no designated seating area for the VIPS, they just get first choice. For Kristin Chenoweth we got there maybe 1 to 1.5 hour before to be in front of the line and that was fine.
