She's talented.

Contender where?
Is she doing an impression of Judy Garland's vibrato?
She's got Barbra's "Fanny hair" (boy, does that sound nasty) and Billie Holliday's edgy crackle in her voice.
I guess the two together are original. But unless the revival is trying to be 1964 trying to be 1924, the hair will have to go. And I hope it takes the crackle with it.
I won't even comment on whether or not she should be considered for Fanny Brice. The first thing that struck me about her crackly voice was how similar it is to Amy Winehouse, but nowhere near as good or special (I realize this is raw video so I'll give her a break). When I first saw her, I assumed she was a drag queen, and what's up the Lady-something name??? She seems to be the sum total of several borrowed bits and pieces of style.
I'm not surprised she has a following, but I don't see that translating to a Broadway-level production.
It's hard to judge by this cabaret performance whether she could successfully carry a big show, but she's certainly worthy of consideration. It's also hard to tell for certain how she would be as Fanny without further auditioning, but she strikes me as a great raw talent and a woman who just might be able to do something Streisand, as phenomenal as she was, never really pulled off, actually be convincing as the real Fanny Brice.
and no I am not old enough to have seen the real Fanny Brice, but I have seen her on film.
Just googled her, she's worked with Sher already, in his production of Cymbeline. Could he possibly have her in mind? I think this could be exciting.

I love the lost lyric there...and the fact she does "Silver plated wah-wah-muLe"
