Posted: 3/23/08 at 6:36pmDoes anyone know if A Catered Affair will be having any type of rush? I know the balcony is something like $30 but having sat up there for Grey Gardens, I don't have much of a desire to do it again!

I'm going to try to pop on by there tomorrow morning and see what the deal is.
If they are offering it tomorrow, I plan on seeing it tomorrow night.

Posted: 3/25/08 at 11:46pmWent to the box office today and they still didn't have rush policy. They have cheap balcony seats for $29 though. I ended up buying a side orchestra seat for $69 with discount code (Center orchestra seats are not discountable....)

Are the balcony seats B.O only? Will they be available after opening night?
This is the kind of show that should really have a rush (I'm still pissed off at the fact IN THE HEIGHTS doesn't do rush).

I agree, they really should have a rush. Grey Gardens had an amazing rush at this theatre.
Thankfully, GYPSY did the right thing this season, and they too have an amazing rush.

You can buy balcony seats on Telecharge.
But ugh, they're $40 Friday - Sunday. I hope they'll work out some type of rush for this.

#14re: A Catered Affair Rush?
Posted: 4/4/08 at 7:36pmI saw DOUBT from the Balcony, and it was VERY high up and VERY far away.

Asked after rush last Friday night (4/11), no rush yet, rush will be 'revisited' after the show opens and will maybe start then, but the nice box office man says that he thinks if they do start a rush that it will probably just be some kind of discount on the balc seats (which are currently $30 weekdays, $40 weekends, I believe?). Planning on checking in again this weekend.

Thanks Wanna Be and Anakela, much appreciated.
I know how high up the Balcony is (I saw Grey Gardens and Doubt from up there), and while it does suck, I'm generally okay with it, and can see/hear things just fine.
But given all the things I'm hearing about "A Catered Affair," it sounds like it's a fairly small, intimate-feeling show, and I feel like watching it from the stratosphere might curtail the experience.

Posted: 4/15/08 at 11:39pmI sat in the first row of the balcony at tonight's performance. It's a beautiful show, and I didn't mind being so high up at all.(This would be a wonderful show to see at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.) Luckily no one was sitting behind me, so I was able to lean forward. You get a good view of the scrambled eggs Faith cooks for Tom. She walks away from the stove for quite some time, and, I fear, she was letting them burn. She could use some cooking lessons! Great show, beautiful music, terrific performances. I hope the critics like it as much as I did.

Posted: 4/18/08 at 10:48amThis may be in poor taste (in the vein of looking at the bright side of someone's death while still at their funeral), but does anyone think these borderline-universal negative reviews might result in a Student Rush policy being put into motion fairly soon?

Posted: 4/20/08 at 2:00amAs of tonight (Saturday 4/19, stopped by after losing the Heights lotto for the evening show) Catered Affair still has no rush.
