WAS ANYONE THERE?
The night "A Chorus Line" broke the Broadway record for longest running musical September 23, 1983

Anyone?

If so, can you please share what happened that night?
All I know is that Michael Bennett gave a great thank you speach, the audience was explosive, the finale was extended, and someone (who?) sang "Nothing" in Chinese.

Details, please? Ever since it debuted in San Francisco last night, I can't get enough of this show, especially its history.

That evening, the entire finale was broadcast on network television LIVE, on the short-lived Howard Cosell show (anyone have a copy?).

My largest theatrical regret in my life was missing that ground breaking performance. I could've gone, but whimped out after already seeing it five times.

All the pictures and text I've accumulated regarding that performance agreed unanimously that it was a night of pure electricity.

I'd love to hear more first hand accounts of that evening.
