Run, don't walk, to this production! Stunning. The only thing I found to be weak was the woman playing Cassie. "Music and the Mirror" wasn't as outstanding as I expected. Val and Sheila stole the show.

Check out this production, too...at the Carousel Dinner Theatre in Akron, OH.
Directed AND choreographed by Donna Drake, an original Broadway production cast member!
CAST: http://www.carouseldinnertheatre.com/cast.htm
Geva's production was directed by Mark Cuddy and choreographed by one of Michael Bennet's assistants (the name slipped me).

It was choreographed by Danny Herman. An original cast member of several Broadway shows including 'A Chorus Line' and 'Contact'. And a great guy.
This show closed last weekend after breaking Geva's all time sales record, clearing $530,000 in revenue. Not to mention this fabulous cast raised over $40,000 for BC/EFA with curtain speeches and lobby collections.
In your initial review:
Val - Nicolette Hart
Sheila - Leslie Stevens
They deserve the credit. I loved every minute of their performances.
Additionally great were (in no particular order) Carlos Lopez (Al), Remi Sandri (Zach), Rocker Verastique (Larry), Miguel Romero (Paul), Kurt Domoney (Bobby), and E. Clayton Cornelius (Richie). Then we must not forget the beautiful and talented ladies Erin Crouch (Judy) and Ellyn Marsh (Diana). The rest of the cast was wonderful as well.
Interesting to read on Carousel's site, "language has been modified" in ACL.
I love me some Rocker Verastique!!! But I'm not gonna go into detail about that, now at least!
I find it odd that Geva didn't use original costumes. That kinda threw me for a loop. It also makes it harder for all us ACL people to figure out who is playing who.
I saw that Robert Tunstall was in the Carousel production. God, I love him! What a hoot! On a Carousel note, I haven't worked there since management switched over. How is it doing?
Bravo for Geva raising so much money. That is awesome!
Okay, not to be negative but...
Those costumes on the Geva website are Ass Ugly. Did they modernize the show to 1983? And even the movie which ruined everything else, more or less, kept the concept for the finale. Me thinks Geva raided the Copacabana for their "One" costumes.
Those pictures weren't Geva's production, they were a dinner theatre production. Our pictures are a little more tightly regulated because of Equity.
PM me your Rocker story...
He's one of my favorites...
In the Geva production Cassie was played by Crista Moore, (Tony nominee for 'Big') For the record, I don't think she was mediocre. However, her performance lacked the energy that she normally brings to her roles. I know she was ill for a lot of the run, her understudy (Erin Crouch) went on several times.
EDIT- The pictures in the thread aren't Geva. The ones on the Geva website are ours. I wasn't crazy about the overall design elements of our production which is rare. The production values at Geva rival Broadway in most cases.
Hahahahaha! They do like like COPACABANA costumes!!! I wonder if the green light hits them at the end for the kick line in "One." If so, I bet it looked a lot like "One Short Day" from WICKED!
Wow -- I didn't realize Crista was a "Cassie" calibre dancer! She would have been interesting. What was lacking in her performance? The voice or the dance?
And for the record, those photos of Carousel's production are beautiful. Talk about a total recreation of Broadway...

Crista's voice is never lacking, she's a superb vocalist and a great actor. In my opinion her dancing was a bit lethargic. She grabbed this production for lots of reasons...
Meaning she wants to do the revival on Bway?
Hmmmm... that would be interesting.
The Cassie dance is a hard number to get through. It takes a lot of stamina and there are so few people who can pull it off.
Oh I don't know about that. She has a relationship with our theatre... This is her third or fourth time here.
