How have the crowds been over the past few weeks with the cold weather? I might be trying tomorrow for standing room and I am curious how early I should get there before the box office opens. 2nd question, how busy has the lottery been on weeknights?

Walked by the theater today around 11 (one hour before box office opened) and there were about 20-30 people on line. Chorus Line doesn't have Monday night performances anymore - check Telecharge.com for perf schedule.

I wanted to try the lottoe for this on Wed. for a matinee. Has anyone done it lately, and if so, is it really crodwed, to the point where you wouldn't even bother with the lotto?

I went in October/November, which was a while ago, and I would guess there were about 30-40 people. We didn't get lotto, but this woman who was trying for lotto with her mother had bought SRO tickets as backup--and they won lotto, so they sold us the SRO tickets for $20 instead of $26.25. (Saving five bucks is awesome.)

I didn't attempt the lotto when I went on a Saturday, but my friend saved us a spot in line while were at the eugene oneill and people started lining up at the schoenfeld at like 8? We got standing room and if you don't mind standing the view was awesome.

I tried the lottery several times the past couple of months. The crowd kinda fluctuates. When I finally did win, it was a Thursday night, very cold, and there was only about 25 people there. The night before there was at least 60+. So it's hard to tell. It's definitely worth seeing, but I'm glad I didn't pay more than $26 for it.

Can someone explain how the lottery works? I read that it's subject to availability, which leads me to believe the seat location isn't consistent. Is that the case? If not, where are the seats? How many do they sell?

Thanks.

They have 20 tickets for 21.25 each and they are located on the extreme sides of the orchestra in roughly the first 5th-10th rows

I just did the lottery for this past Saturday's matinee. Everyone there for the lottery got tickets because there were only about 15-20 people there. There were enough tickets left over that the woman running the lotto went through all the slips in the bucket to make sure that everyone who wanted one had gotten a ticket and even then a woman walked in after the lottery was over because she had the time wrong and they just gave her a ticket. One of the other guy's running the lottery did say that he'd never seen that happen before, so it's not typical, but I was pretty surprised.

That's crazy, bwaydoc.

C is for Company won last Saturday with a large crowd at night and frantically called me to join him. I've never run so fast in my life!

They should motivate me with tickets in gym class, maybe then I'd actually get changed and do something.

I went with my friend who won the lottery a couple of Wednesday nights ago, and he said he was pretty sure everyone who showed up at the lottery did get tickets. It was a pretty cold night. Unfortunately, our seats were as far left as you could get (obstructed view), and they were terrrrrrible. Can't beat the price, though.
