I'm auditioning for the musical version of A Christmas Carol that played at Madison Square Garden for a number years. I know I saw the show, but it was almost ten years ago and I don't remember much about it.

Does Young Scrooge (at eighteen) sing anything? I looked at MTI and they made it sound like he sings "A Place Called Home," but I thought that was Emily's song. Anyone know his voice type as well? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's too bad they couldn't have done a better job writing this version - I've seen community theatre versions that had more heart and stuck closer to the original story, and they used to do an amazing version down in VA Beach, written by the theatre owner, and it blew this version out of the water.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I know I'm in a very small minority; but I loved A CHRISTMAS CAROL: THE MUSICAL. Although, I never saw it at MSG, I only saw the made for TV film, and I loved it. It quickly became one of my favorite scores. I've no idea how the play and film differ; but in the film, young Scrooge's voice is quite high singing A PLACE CALLED HOME. Not sure how old he's supposed to be, but it isn't 18 when he signs it in the workhouse. The 18 or so year old Scrooge, also sings it, at the Christmas party, with Emily. In the baritone/tenor range in the film.

ConvinceMe - Yeah, I think there are three different young Scrooges... at eight, twelve, and eighteen. The twelve year old Scrooge I think sings the first "A Place Called Home." I just wasn't sure if he sang it again as a duet with Emily, or if he was in any other songs.

God, I hated this on stage and the TV movie was even more horrid!

Loved the show, Scrooge at 18 sings part of the "Money Montage."

I Love this show, though I prefered the stage version to the tv movie; but that's just me.
