First, a question that has been asked before, I know: why are headshots always in black and white?
Second, I noticed that some actors and actresses use the same headshot for years, job after job. Is there any specific reason for this? I know the cost can certainly be prohibitive, but are there any other reasons behind it?
I ask because I recently had some headshots done, and they were shot in color (easily can be made B&W). I really like a lot of the shots, and would like to know if there is some kind of unwritten rule or something that says I can only use one.
Headshots go through all sorts of trends, like color vs black and white. Ultimatley what you're planning on using them for should determine the look of them. It is fairly standard to have 2 shots. One that works more for comedy, and one for drama, so no, there is no rule that you can only have one.
color is the thing now. according to my latest photographer, the reason b&w was the standard was only because it used to cost more to produce color. now it costs the same.
