I have spent the day giving serious thought to looking into the possibility of forming a trade association for the benefit of cabaret performers & what it would take to create an effective ass'n.

To this end, I invite any poster or lurker who either has experience in theatrical trade ass’ns, e.g. The League of American Theatres and Producers, Inc. or The League of Off Broadway Theatres and Producers, or those who have experience as a corporate lawyer, or those who have constructive & imaginative ideas, to contact me.

I will be tied up until Nov. 13, but will collect information & make brief inquiries.

i applaud you for taking the initiative to start something in which you believe strongly. i question however if this the best audience to target. this appears to be mostly underage fans of musical theatre with little to no life expereience, limited knowledge of anything that any decent artist would want to sing in a cabaret act. can they even appreciate cabaret [excepting the recent roundabout revival]? consider other ways to solicit ideas is what i would say to you.

SPG, Thanks for your suggestion & thoughts. I'm getting the word out all over the place.

I'm a firm believer that the more places you put out your ideas, the better.
