Hi everyone!
I am a musical theatre performer who has been "lurking" on the boards for a shameful amount of time. I love this website and have learned so much about my craft as a result of it! I thought I'd go ahead and try out my first post..
Did anyone catch the production of Lippa's "A Little Princess" in Orange County last weekend? Any thoughts?

I saw the premiere production at TheatreWorks (CA) in 2004 with Will Chase and Mackenzie Mauzy, and I really loved it. It was flawed in many ways but I just thought the score was magnificent and there was so much potential if it's given a chance. I'd love to hear about this new staging.

Just out of curiosity, is this a new musical or is it based on something?

It was "put on" by the California Conservatory of the Arts as sort of workshop production so Andrew Lippa and Brian Crawley could see their new rewrites "up on its feet"...sorry, that didn't make any sense gramatically
