Anyone heard of the musical A New Brain?

We are performing Heart and Music from this show, and I am really beginning to really get into this score...Its amazing.

I know Cheno was in it, but thats about all. Its a really good score...has a nice harmony between comedy and somberness....

i have the cd and i love it. heart and music is one of my favorite songs in the show, but i really like all the songs. it helps that kristin chenowith is in it, in a tiny role, like the year before she was cast in YAGMCB, but malcolm gets is the lead and hes amazing. you should definitely get the cd if you dont have it.

Yeah I only get to listen to it at school so I really wanna get it...Heart and Music takes the cake for the best song...Love the duet between the two men its really great. I am trying out for the baritone part.

I saw the original production. Mary Testa as the homeless woman pretty much stopped the show with the song "Change". Penny Fuller as the mother was also excellent. Of course, Chip Zien was charming as Mister Bungee, the kiddie show frog.

Another great moment was "And They're Off". The ensemble were all dressed as hospital workers in various colored scrubs, and the chroeography had them all using walkers, which they eventaully lined up across the front of the stage, forming the railing at a race track as they became the spectators. This was well before Susan Stroman used walker choreography in THE PRODUCERS.

I also caught the original production. Wonderful show - and I loved the song "The Music Still Plays On." Malcolm Gets was brilliant as well.

A lot of the lyrics in this show are a bit silly, but I still enjoy it very much. If you have a good Gordon, the show can be AWESOME. They did it at NYU a couple years ago and I saw the production twice :0)

Someone tell me, is it a one act? And if it's a two-act show, where is intermission?

It's one act - no intermission - about 90 minutes.

Thanks. That's what I thought based on the CD.

Yes, Norm is a great addition to the show. He was not the original person in that role, though. He was brought in just for the recording. I think someone told me the actual Roger didn't have the greatest singing voice, and Norm (obviously) does.
