A Question about 'Alternates'
A Question about 'Alternates'#1

I was just thinking about the '13' understudies, but this is a general question as well.
Say it was a performance that Graham Phillips was supposed to go on, but he could not. Would Corey J. Snide (his alternate) go on in the role or would Henry Hodges (the Evan understudy) go on? I imagine they would put on Corey, right?
Say it was a matinee performance that Corey J. Snide was supposed to go on, but could not? Would that be the only situation when Hodges would go on? Or would they look to Graham to the performance?

I believe - but could be wrong - that if the performer who is meant to perform calls out, then the understudy goes on, even if the original performer has an alternate.
It might be that the alternate only goes to the theatre on the days when they're needed, therefore can't be guaranteed to be around should the original performer call out. I might have just made that up.
But I'm pretty certain the understudy gets dibs for a call-out. :3
