Any ideas?
My favorite songs are "The Way It Ought To Be" and "Out of Sight, Out of Mind." Natalie Toro does a great job as Mdm. DeFarge.
Any other ideas about this show?

"The Shadows of the Night" (I think it's called that) the second song on the CD, gives me chills. It is incredible.
Love, love, love this CD. Can't wait for the show.

Although there are a few times when someone tries to hit a high note and it just turns out ugly. Other than that the cd is great and i cant wait to see the show!

Posted: 2/13/06 at 5:47pmI think it will be perceived as cheesey if it starts with that line. I agree that it is great in the novel, but this is not a novel.

It doesn't start with that line. Personally, I think the book is genius. By the last chapter, you realize that each and every character is related in some way.
The story has beuatiful characters and I can't wait to see "the whole picture" if and when it transfers to Broadway.

I know I have said it many a time, but when Natalie sang this live she blew almost everyone away. It was an absolutely enthralling performance. I hope she is cast as Mme. Defarge when it hits Broadway. Nothing is official yet as far as I can tell.
James Barbour (though not on the cd) did wonderfully as Carton also. Barbour portrays Carton's dark moments well, but they are tempered by his wit which is reminiscent of a character from an Oscar Wilde play. His voice also just fits the role of Carton perfetly.
Wow I sound more an more like a critic every day! It's scary!
