A Tony For De Shields

After reading Reidel's column re Prymate, Deshields should get the Tony for having the cajones not only to tackle a role of a gorilla but to do the other stuff . He is either very courageous or very stupid.

Why not, he wanted a sponge to get a special Tony for its having been and I am quoting here, "a hoot." (And no Roxy you don't have to tell me I still can't take a joke and that you are going to bed.) We're not talking traditional standards here.

I believe the Captain from Sponge Bob Squarepants should receive a special Tony for dedication to the theatre. He was Captain Hook in the OBC of "Peter Pan" he has also appeared in "Pirates of Penzance" and is currently workshopping the new Disney musical version of "Pirates of the Carribean" he has been a driving force behind Pirate-Equity on Broadway.

I had forgotten about Sponge Bob Penzance. A classic.

But Roxy's Special Tony-Worthy Sponge of course would have gone to the Sponge co-star of DOTV.

No the sponge is not a Hussy but a successful resident of SoHo where he lives with his "companion" sponge, Bert. He is currently working to raise awareness of the Gay and Lesbian Community .
