Thanks for posting this again. I've been talking about it here for a week and it was excellent. "Spellbinding" is better than the songs in "Wicked". "Passions" rocks!
Does no one have the heart to tell Craig this has been posted numerous times?

It can never be posted enough. It was wonderful! Better than any of the songs in "Wicked"!
That was completely hilarious! I loved it and it was just as good as Wicked. At least it was better than that thing on One Life to Live!

Does anyone remember the Chicago parody that Passions did in the Summer of 2003? It was hilarious. I still have the MP3 of their Cell Block Tango parody called "I Ain't Sorry"
I never got to see the whole episode only the clip of the parody online.

They won an Emmy for that and for the Bollywood number from last year. Looks like they'll get another for this! Great job! The composer is itching to do more musical segments.
The "Chicago" parody is called "I Ain't Sorry" and it can be found at a certain video site.
This is pretty brilliant, actually...the tune, orchestrations and lyrics are spot-on. Even the staging is perfect. It could fit right into Wicked and no one would notice...

Holy cow, that's actually better than Wicked, IMO. And they're good singers, too!

From Soaps.com At the school for Good Witches, old rival Esmeralda never thought she'd see Tabitha again, certainly not in her school. 'You owe me and I've come to collect,' Tabitha says, recalling what Esmeralda put her through. The good witches start to whisper among themselves; all magic creatures know that Tabitha and Esmeralda are old enemies. It wasn't always like that though. They were roommates once and it was an utter disaster. Remembering, they flash back into a long musical sequence. The young Tabitha arrives at the witch school while Esmeralda starts trying to give her a make-over from 'perfectly frightful to perfectly delightful'. The two ladies smile at each other as they remember and the good witches beg for more details. Tabitha sits down with her daughter and tells her that she was awkward when she was a little girl, not like popular cutie Esmeralda. The Good Witch reminds her that she was such a loner that she put people off; she didn't even go to the munchkin toss. Tabs claims that she was just desperately shy.
They flash back again to Esmeralda trying to convince Tabitha to be lighter and laugh more, learn dances and make friends. She doesn't want any friends, she insisted. When the good witch teases her about being a 'green loser', Tabs starts to cry. 'It must be hard for you, rooming with someone who is truly perfect,' Esmeralda says, before offering to help her out. First they have to stop her from being green, 'not that I'm prejudiced or anything.' Tabs explains that her great grandfather was an enchanted prince, a frog who never got kissed. As Esmeralda dabs Tabs with makeup, the flashback ends as Tabitha explains that she changed her skin, not with makeup, but with magic. But popular and pretty were never for her; she was more interested in being powerful. She wanted to be noticed not for her looks, but for her brains and ability. 'She learned more about magic than the rest of us put together,' Esmeralda admits. They flash back and kick out another show stopping musical number where Tabs vows to use her magic to be the greatest witch and leave them all behind. 'Knowing you has changed me for good,' Tabs admits, hugging Esmeralda. Back in the present, Tabitha explains that her daughter wants to be changed for the good and Esmeralda is the only one she can trust with her. Esmeralda promises not to make the same mistakes with Endora that she made with her mother once upon a time. Tabitha leans down and promises her daughter that she'll make lots of friends and be happy there. Endora doesn't want her to go, but she insists that this is for the best. After placing her daughter's hand in the good witch's, Tabitha jumps on her broomstick and flies away.

I am SOOOOOOOOO confused.
Call me an idiot but I have NO IDEA what this is. ???
I absolutely loved the clip to death but was this supposed to be a joke? Or is it serious? Is it part of a soap opera? Why on earth would it be?
Someone care to enlighten me?

OK. They synopsis is in this very thread! It is from a daytime drama, "Passions". The whole scenario is described in this thread so that should clear up your confusion. "Passions" airs on NBC until September 7th and then new episodes will air on Direct TV starting a week later, Sept. 17th.

I guess this has been out there for a while and probably been discussed before, but couldn't find it.
Who are the actresses? Pretty good singers! Any Bway credits?
And any word if Wicked folks were amused or pissed about this?
Thanks.

Some of the performers are from the LA production of "Wicked". "Wicked" and "Passions" are both products of NBC Universal so I doubt if anyone was pissed since this was an obvious cross promotion.
Kim Huber is playing the Tabitha/Elphaba role.
Melissa Fahn is playing the Esmeralda/Glinda role. Melissa has been with "Wicked" since the workshops, was a Glinda U/S since Chenoweth was in the show and is currently in the LA production ensemble and first U/S for Glinda.
