Anybody have any idea of a comedic song for a female that would be a good encore song for a one-woman recital? Looking for something fun, preferably with lots of personality and/or funny that works out of context of the overall show.
I know so many friggin showtunes, you'd think I could come up with one...

Oldies but goodies:
Adelaide's Lament (Guys and Dolls)
Gooch's Song (Mame)
Less Oldie, but still Goodie
I'm Breaking Down (In Trousers/March of the Falsettos)
Getting Married (Company)
I'm sure I'll think of more if I put my mind to it.
If You Hadn't But You Did - Comden and Green - I don't believe this is a showtune at all, and it doesn't have to be in any specific context. It's fun and comes off as much more impressive than its actual level of difficulty.
"Real Love of My Life" - Brigadoon
"Everybody's Girl" - Steel Pier
"Not Since Nineva" - Kismet
Surabaya Santa - Songs For A New World
I have heard 'Judy Conelli' singing this. Brilliant!

Miss Byrd, from "Closer Than Ever" (its a hilarious song about a buttoned-up real estate agent who is having all these little flings on the side.)
And speaking of songs recorded by Sally Mayes, what about Trip to the Library, from "She Loves Me"?
Warning: Some of these are done all the time
"Crossword Puzzle" from Starting Here, Starting Now"
"Miss Byrd"; "The Bear, The Hamster, and The Mole"; "You Want to Be My Friend?" from Closer Than Ever
"Sara Lee" by Kander & Ebb (in 'and the World Goes Round' its sung by a man, but Kaye Ballard used to do it a lot)
"the Boy From" from the Mad show
"Lesbian Love Story" from WIld Party(Lippa)
"A Summer in Ohio" from Last Five Years is kinda Funny, right?
"Repent" from On The Twentieth Century(I never really thought it would be funy out of context, but I recently saw a gal do this, and it was hilarious)
"Paris Makes Me Horny" from Victor/Victoria
"It's An Art" rom Working
"Making Love Alone" by Marilyn miller & Cheryl Hardwick
"Zip" from Pal Joey
"I Can Cook, too" from On The Town
"Pirate Jenny" from Threepenny Opera(I have seen this performed to great comic effect)
"You Can Always Count On Me" from City of Angels
"Rich, Famous, and Powerful" from Listen to My Heart.
It is the funniest song, and not too overdone.
It would also depend on your city...."Rich, Famous and Powerful" is a signature song for one performer here in Chicago.
Best ask "those in the know" locally.

Ring Them Bells--its way overdone, but such a great encore song.

Several of the songs from Nunsense: I Just Want to Be A Star, I Could Have Gone To Nashville, Turn Up The Spotlight, etc.
Popular from Wicked
I'm a Stranger Here Myself from One Touch of Venus
Nobody's Chasing Me from Out of This World
Bill from Showboat - though sad within the show, it can be cute out of context
the singular greatest comedic song ever written for a female to sing is
Adelaide's Lament from GUYS AND DOLLS
often-times known as "A Person Could Develop A Cold."
I definitely third Adelaide's Lament.
RAITHNAIT62, IF...........is indeed a showtune.........it is from the musical TWO ON THE AISLE by Jule Styne and Comden and Green. It starred Bert Lahr and Delores Grey on Broadway. However, Comden and Green point out that when they wrote IF, they thought that Lena Horne was going to be performing it in the show.
You can hear Betty Comden perform the song IF and talk about its genesis and lots of other great stuff on the live cd A PARTY WITH COMDEN AND GREEN.
I love that cd.
Well thanks, WISH. Good info indeed. Still can easily be sung out of context, however.

"On My Own" - Les Mis
That song cracks me up EVERY time!
WOOP!
J/K....of course...
Raithnait62, absolutely. Kristen Chenowith did it in her recent concert with the Boston Pops. It and she were great!
Yes, I have her CD and it's on there. As I recall, Liza used to do it in concert and that's where I know it from...

Hmmm... I don't know your vocal range but maybe "I Never Do Anything Twice" by Stephen Sondheim. I think it's from "The 7% Solution."

I nominate "To Keep My Love Alive" by Rogers & Hart. Elaine Stritch sang it on the Tonys many years ago and brought the house down:
"I've been married, and married, and often I've sighed
"I'm never a bridesmaid, I'm always a bride"
I never divorced them, I hadn't the heart
Yet remember these sweet words, "`till death do us part"
I married many men, a ton of them
Because I was untrue to none of them
Because I bumped off every one of them
To keep my love alive
Sir Philip played the harp, I cussed the thing
I crowned him with his harp to bust the thing
And now he plays where harps are just the thing
To keep my love alive"
