Then will they reissue Donnybrook on cd???????? You'd think it would be a perfect opportunity now that they have so many successful cast albums out and have a theatrical production arm. Plus, they need to just do it already.

With Irma you gotta do something!

The problem with DONNYBROOK is that no one at Universal can find the original paperwork (contracts etc.) and without that the legal department won't let them just reissue it.

The original LP was on the Kapp label which was later absorbed into MCA and is now owned by Universal. Kapp didn't do a lot of cast albums. The big hits were re-relased many times but DONNYBOORK has been out of print since the mid 1960's. By 2012 it will be possible for one of the U.K. public domain labels to issue it, although they would have to take it from an LP copy, while the master tapes presumably sit in the vaults.

Having said all that, I am not clear how a reissue of DONNYBROOK relates to THE ADDAMS FAMILY?

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
