AGMA union to Equity

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about getting your equity card if you are already an AGMA member. My friend said if you have your AGMA card for one year you can just apply and get your equity card (even without getting any actual equity work). This seems to easy. They are sister unions, but that still doesn't seem right. Does anyone know anything about this?

This is true, you can look on Equity's website for details. You get half off the initiation fee.

wow well that seems like a fairly easy way to get your equity card then. Sweet. I mean still not easy, but possibly easier than I thought.
