Along with CHICAGO being released on Tuesday, All That Jazz is going to be re-released on DVD tomorrow. It's an insanely great Fosse movie!!

And having just viewed the DVD (I got an advance over the weekend) it's a wonderful transfer. The opening of the film and Everything Old is New Again are two of the greatest musical numbers ever - you want to watch a director who knows how to shoot a number, watch All that Jazz. Some fun extras, too.

I plan on buying it... What else is on it? For Extras?

It's not loaded with extras - it has some scene specific comments by Roy Scheider, an interview with Scheider, and some production footage of Fosse at work, which is terrific. But it's the transfer that shines and makes this a must. I had a region 2 DVD of this and it looked horrid - grainy and ugly and brown. This new transfer really replicates the photography as it looke in its theatrical prints.
