I know this has been posted about before, so forgive me. I just had to post about A Little Night Music, as it was one of the most wonderful shows I've seen in a long time. It was different from other shows, I felt.

Also, people here in Los Angeles don't seem to care about rush. 15 minutes before they went on sale, only 10 people in line. After New York rush lines, this was silly in comparison.

I believe the cast is what made it so special. You could certainly see why Michelle Pawk and Judith Ivey have Tonys. They were spectacular. I was on the verge of tears during "Send In The Clowns".

I especially finally understand all the fuss over Laura Benanti. Wow. That woman's voice has a perfect blend of ingenue and a hint of maturity.

Victor Garber was wonderful. His acting was great, I felt his singing voice could have been stronger though. Speaking of singing voices, Marc Kudisch has quite a presence. I was thrilled at his performance. I loved him in Assassins, but tonight I was more impressed.

Sorry to be so long winded, but had to tell people who care (my friends think I'm a nut for liking operas and broadway).

There's been some wonderful things written about this marvelous production, but just not enough said about one of the great aspects of it - Zoe Caldwell! She absolutely personified grace, dignity and TOTAL command of the stage. It was obvious why she is one of the leading personages of theatre history.

I was sitting front row mezzanine the other night so I could see into the orchestra pit - at the end of Judith Ivey's heart-stopping Send in the Clowns, conductor John DeMain put down his baton and applauded her.

Also like to mention Danny Gurwin, a wonderfully nuanced Henrik, and Jessica Boevers who made the most of Petra's one shining moment. The whole cast was superb.

It was spectacular...I have heard through people involved with the production that Sondheim saw it recently and said it was the best production he's seen yet..

Petra was played by Jessica Boevers - Her "Miller's Son" was excellent!

Thanks, Shira. I'll bet she was great. Man, I wish it was being recorded by a label.

ok if Judith Ivey is so friggin good (which Im sure she is) WHYYYYYYYY Glenn Close??????????????? Laura Benanti....deserves fuss, a tony, and everything that comes her way! She's fantastic...I just wish they would keep this cast and take it to BROADWAY! KEEP IT! PLEEEEASSSSE...NO GLENN CLOSE!
I LOVE Victor Garber and find him incredibly sexy but I wouldn't have minded seeing Jeremy Irons....meow!
YEA so JUST KEEP THIS CAST.
PS What is Marc Doing with his hair in the show??? Since he was bald and all.

Brody - mostly because many people really like her (I am one of them) - and she is a MUCH bigger name draw. I think she'll be GREAT in the role. I really liked Victor, but I wouldn't mind if George Hearn did it, either. As for Mark's hair - I have no idea. His character is military, so the hair is really short - I'm assuming a wig.

George Hearn is older than dirt...still enormously talented yes but Fredrik cannot be that old...even if Glenn Close is oldER he can't be THAT old. It's not right for the character. Jeremy Irons and Victor Garber were both at the PERFECT age I think.

I think I'm going to have to pick up the cast recording on my way home from work....I lost mine a year ago...Wish LA had a recording....this is honestly the one show or production I have yet to read a bad review of...the cast must be very proud

Ok, Brody, ok - you're right, George is way to old (I really didn't realize he was quite THAT long in the tooth) - but I STILL think Glenn is perfect for the role re: ALNM in LA

Kudisch had a full head of hair, albeit short and slicked-back. If it was a wig it was a good one.
