It will never play Broadway again, unless it's with a pop, movie or tv star in a limited engagement and mia michaels choreogaphed act two. Broadway is way too commercial now for a one woman musical / dance based show with no jukebox score to appeal to producers. They should do a gay version, where Emma is played by a Daniel Riechard and have Bill T. Jones choreograph the second act.

We're discussing studio recordings and concert performances. On Broadway they would obviously have to go for different actresses. And you're right it would have to be a TV/Film star. I could see Anne Hathaway being a good Emma a few years from now.
The only actress in her mid-30s that I would love to see playing the role is Anika Noni Rose, it is out-of-the-box casting, but I think she would be excellent.
