AMADEUS Question

AMADEUS Question

AMADEUS Question#1

Posted: 1/12/09 at 7:39pm

Hi there folks,

I have a question about a monologue in Amadeus, and as I have neither the film nor the play handy right now I thought I would ask the experts.

Is the monologue discussing the importance of opera - the one that begins " I don't understand you" You're all up on perches..." and ends discussing how "God hears the world" - is this monologue in both the play and the film? If not, in which medium does it appear? Kind of a random question I know, but for some reason this has been bugging me

If this is the one in which Amadeus says the various members of the court, ahem, excrete marble, then it is in both the play and the movie.

If you are planning on using the monologue, you should get your hands on both the play and the movie. Both are excellent.

Thanks BNN!

I am pretty familiar with Amadeus - just wasn't sure about this monologue.

Thanks again!
