i have some friends who went to AMDA who said it was awesome...now, i don't know the truth obviously b/c i haven't been there.

but what's the huge problem that people have with AMDA?
(please don't tell me it's a stupid question, i'm genuinely interested to know the response)

thanks,

I went there and liked it. Had an awesome experience. Talk to people who went there or are going there now to get the real deal. You should go take a tour and talk to the students. Feel free to IM me if you want more info.

I graduated from AMDA in 1990. From what I hear it's doubled in size since then. When I went the whole NYC experience was awsome and some teachers were really interesting and I learned a lot because I put in a lot of time and energy into my studies. If I had to do it again,I would not. I would try to get into another school with a higer caliabre of training and teachers. It was not the best school and almost everybody who auditioned got accepted into the program. Yes, they're are several of my classmates who went on to do very well but they were amazingly talented and driven prior entering the school. AMDA provided a great introduction to the the city but basically you're just a number. If you are intrested in perhaps being a cookie cutter like performer and working in the chours on cruise ships, than I can highly recomend the program. If you want to be a true triple threat, or really want to learn your craft at a serious level, seek a finer school. Updated On: 1/2/05 at 11:33 AM
