Bravo for Dollypop! I'd love to see him interview more members of the theater community in a regular column.

That's a really nice interview. It's great to read one in article form, instead of the more common (and easier to write) Q&A format. Nicely written.

There's a good lesson in there, too, for the many people on this board who write off all "critics" as a univeral group of bad guys and gals who just ruin the chances for artistic pinnacles like "Urban Cowboy" to have long runs.

Carol Channing contacted critics she trusted for their unvarnished feedback on her work. I suggest people on here decide which critics are worthy of their trust and stop dismissing them all in sweeping generalizations.

Wonderful article! One of the people I would love to just sit and have lunch with some day. I had an oppurtunity to meet her once. She was strolling down 45th with a dashing gentleman back in 96. I wanted so much to say hello just to shake her hand, but they were so cute together, I didn't want to interrupt. I doubt if she would have minded, though. I have heard that she is genuinely gracious and kind to her fans. I was content with that sweet moment. I hope we can have more inspirational icons like her in the theatre world to look forward to, but Channing herself is a unique gift to our world.
