BW - I believe you mean Liz Callaway, who provided the singing voice for Anastasia...

Also, Jonathan Dokuchitz (current Corny Collins in Hairspray) provided the singing voice for Dimitri

Whoops, yeah, Liz Calloway. I just happen to have a recording of Lea Salonga singing it, so my mind went to her first.

It's interesting to read all these comments about this film - especially the performing talent involved - and see no mention of Liz Calloway, who sang the role of Anastasia. The executive at Fox who was the driving force behind this piece is a life-long friend (read: ex) of my partner's, and by extension mine. He will be very interested and heart-warmed to hear that people still talk about his project. I can tell you that ALOT of heart and soul went into its creation. And now I just saw that Craig (surprise, surprise) caught the ommision of Liz's contribution.

If you speak to him soon, any way you can ask about a 2-disc Special Edition DVD release?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. By the way, one correction. The movie does have a special feature DVD. A couple of behind the scenes features including one hosted by the late Alyiah sp?, games for the kids, etc. I know because I own it.

Even though I speak to him all the time, I'm afraid he no longer is associated with Fox - something about Titan AE, his last project with them. Fickle hollywood . . .

Oh well.

I once had the DVD too. It isn't too great. But yes, it did have a little something.

I would absolutely LOVE to see this movie made into a broadway musical...it's beautiful, the music is enchanting and the story is so accessible....i think it'd be fantastic...I mean, the fact that it was Fox's first animated feature and it was THAT astounding definitely says something...heck, I'll back it if anyone brings up the idea! DISNEY is goin' down!!!! :)

Disney doesn't deserve to go down. Michael Eisner does for his poor decisions. He was great for Disney in the start, but now he has lost it.

Disney needs to go back to its roots and rediscover the meaning of magic.

Just a side note - it's a little sad to me that so much vitriol is tossed around at the mere mention of the Disney name. Certainly I can understand that what it represents now can be bothersome, to say the least, but it still uses the name of a man who gave much of his time and talent to enrich and entertain so many. It is beyond sad to me that his legacy is so tarnished - he, as a man and a representative ideal, deserves so much better.

Here, here, DG!

I wouldn't say "much" of his time. It was ALL of his time. His movies and cartoons and theme parks was his LIFE.

The Disney company has fallen and can't get up...as long as Eisner is here. They haven't had a hit since Huncback of Notre Dame (although Mulan and Tarzan and Hercules were OK, still not a classic).

Not to mention the fact that they lost Pixar - the one thing Disney had going for them.

I just want to say, that I loved "Hercules" and thought "Tarzan" and "Lilo and Stitch" were very good additions to Disney. BUT, "Treasure Planet?" "Cinderella 2?" "Lady and the Tramp 2?" "The Jungle Book 2?" "Peter Pan: Return to Neverland?" "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas?" It's these only-made-to-cash-in-on-the-brand-name excuses for movies that tarnish Disney for me.

Treasure Planet, Emporer's New Groove, Atlantis, Brother Bear, Home On The Range, and most ALL THE SEQUELS do it.

Disney has learned its lesson, however, and has canceled many plans for producing sequels.

They money making scheme now seems to be re-releasing older films to DVD in special editions. I am ALL FOR THIS, however, since the DVDs are very nice and indeed special. I can't wait for the 2-disc of MARY POPPINS and ALADDIN and MULAN this October and December.

Disney's live-action films used to be great, but then trash like Ella Enchanted, Haunted Mansion et al came about. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN was a huge success, however.

And what has become of the Disney Channel and ABC? We used to have great shows such as Duck Tales, The Rescue Rangers, Bonkers, Darwing Duck, Goof Troop, Boy Meets World, The Gummi Bears, etc. Now we have trash such as Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, That's So Raven, etc. Such garbage.

"Whatever happened to CLASS?"

I will admit, I do love "The Emperor's New Groove." If only for Ms. Eartha Kitt. I think it's a very funny little movie, but, of course, it doesn't stack up against the classics.

I was a huge fan of "Bonkers" and "Darkwing Duck."

Wasn't Roger Bart the singing (possibly speaking also) voice of the main dog in Lady and the Tramp 2?

Roger Bart did the singing voice of both Scamp in "Lady and the Tramp 2" and Young Hercules... in "Hercules."

Susan Egan also sings in Lady and the Tramp 2 - the only palatable 2 Disney has made in my opinion.

And, after just seeing The Stepford Wives tonight, I have a new crush on Roger Bart. I know, weird cause he played a gay "wife", but still, a crush.

And, back to topic, I had a crush on Dmitri to. Even weirder, yes I know.
