if it was...that was bad recording. her voice wasn't strong throughout the entire thing, especially the end.

i dont think she was. she sounded so out of breath, i doubt they would put that on a recording.

My friend said that too. I couldn't see her mic so we were like...HMMMMMM...

lipsynching would never sound that bad.

She couldn't stay with the orchestra (or the orchestra couldn't stay with her), so how could it be a recording?

Actually, I thought it was Raimerez lip-syncing.

If Christina was, I'm POSITIVE that it would have sounded better!!!!!! So, I am VERY SURE that she wasn't......

If Applegate was mouthing to a recording, I would HATE to hear her live. That performance was dreadful.

She was horrible, off key, off beat, just off. How the heck did she get nominated?????

Ramirez wasn't lipsyncing. She had a hard time getting the higher notes out.

Christina is a delight in person. She does not have the vocal abilities of Raimerez...noone ever said she did. But she does a great job, is having the time of her life and gives it her all. I think she was quite deserving of a nomination.

She was nominated because of her acting. See the show live and you will understand. Sometimes performances don't translate well to television. Remember that Iscreama Menzel sounded terrible last year too.

Right. Applegate is by no means the first performer to royally suck while performing at the Tonys. Marissa Jaret Winokur was awful, as were Idina Menzel and Tonya Pinkins.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

You could tell Sara was backing off at the beginning, due to her cold...I think she was afraid she would crack.

Her performance is based on her acting foremost...she does such a good job at it, and in the end is so winning, that you forgive that her singing is not quite up to that of Laura Benanti or Audra McDonald. As for her dancing, blame it on the choreography. I think she's up to more than what she's given.
