According to todays Los Angeles times Sunday evenings performance of " Applause" by reprise was cancelled due to a threat made against lead Jean Luisa kelly ( you all might know her from the tv show "Yes Dear" ). According to the article the audience was already in their seats when the producer and cops came out and cancelled the show. This is on the 3rd page of the calendar section of the Los Angeles Times.

My parents were there...they called me at 7:15 or something, said they were on their way home. On Monday, at "SAM" I asked one of the ensemble members how s/he felt about it "I got to sleep for a whole night"

I'm guessing that ensemble member doesn't enjoy the production.

It really was! I brought my Dad along who amazingly didn't sleep through it -- it was very exciting!

No. I have seen it before. I was there on Sunday for the afternoon performance of Applause. ( tell your parents they didn't miss anything)

What was the threat that was made against her?

Was the threat made because Yes Dear was renewed?

The truly beautiful should be lawfully restricted from wearing clothing; and the truly butt-ugly should be lawfully mandated from going naked.

Miss Kelly was only a symbol, the real threat was geared towards REPRISE! for reviving that horrid old musical.

I was there - they didn't even open the doors to the house that night.

to bad reprise is still working..most of their shows are cliche in their staging and lack the real punch the the east coast encores series does. the threat was probably a stunt for publicity.i mean come on..it is hollywood
