Perhaps its a play on the expression "way of life." If so, then they have quite a grasp of the English language.

OMG...my eyes are wet from crying, this is too funny! Just watched Come What May, and when the cellist (spelling...sorry) came out and sang the end...too funny. They are definetly students...I would hope...
