I just bought the ASSASSINS 2004 Cast Recording today and all I can say is.......WOW!!!! I am not the biggest fan of Sondheim, but I have to say that ranks up there with his best (Sweeney Todd, Company, Passion, Into the Woods). Neil Patrick Harris has a GREAT voice that he only hinted at in the SWEENEY TODD IN CONCERT dvd that I have. He strained a little to hit the hight notes, but that is a minor quibble. I think he needs to reprise his role as Mark in the movie version of RENT, but that is just me. Anyway, if anyone out there in cyberland does not have this recording, I strongly suggest that you do so because it is a treat. I also bought the highlights of SUNSET BLVD. today as well (Another great cd). I am happy.

This is far superior to the original cast recording. The technical quality of the recoding is greatly improved - you can understand the lyrics much better, and the new orchestration is crisper. The bits of dialogue are great. You really get a sense of the entire show.

I think it's absolutely incredible and they all sound fantastic!
