Honestly, I don't think it's very good. The beginning's good, but I'm not sure he can handle the last part of the song vocally.

I really hate his falsetto. It starts out great, but then when he switches into falsetto, I just cringe. The vocals on this song need to be strong...they're not meant to be sung in falsetto! It needs to be brassy.

THANK YOU. I agree. I was honestly disappointed when I found it Chris would be doing this song.
Yeah, why didn't they give it to Jane Lynch?! And I am curious as to how this will fit in the storyline. He sang to his Dad and Rachel Berry...
I think it sounds decent, but not as good as his knockout "A House Is Not A Home" he really killed that one!
Are we listening to two different songs? I like the ending better than the beginning. I think he's hella brassy at the end and it works great.
I wonder too about how its gonna fit.
I listened to it, too. Can't even tell you why, since I don't watch "Glee" (or any regular series TV, for that matter).
But I assume you all mean "head voice," because there's no falsetto here. He's a tenor going into his high belt range for the last part of the song, and that's called "head voice."
"Falsetto" is Frankie Valli and Mickey Mouse and the Beach Boys. And countertenors.
"Head voice" is a mix between "chest voice" and "falsetto."
*end of voice lesson*
They should have had Rachel or Sue sing this.
But I definitely agree with Biff. The ending is much better than the beginning.

I guess I don't like how he's shouting at the end. Probably a personal thing.

Its better than his Defying Gravity because it less autotone. He has a tenor voice with not a lot of power or range. Listen to his Mr. Cellophane. It's not amazing.

They should have had Rachel or Sue sing this.
How would this song ever apply to either of them?
TheatreFan, what are you talking about? This song would be PERFECT for Sue, there are so many routes they could take in order to make Rose's Turn fit, she even said it in an interview she would like Sue to sing Rose's Turn

I can't seriously be the only one who LOVES it... haha
I think Chris did a darn amazing job! I mean, baring in mind he's never had any professional voice training, to me he sounds pretty darn great, and even more than that, what other 19 year old boy could pull off the ACTING of the song!? He just sells it!
I'm very impressed

I loved it too. His voice has such character.

Why do people need to listen to something they can actually experience in context twelve hours later? Just one of the many things that confounds me about the Glee phenomenon.
