I love the idea of Parker Posey, and James Cromwell.

I was not super excited to see Amy Adams as Karen. I see her as sweet and innocent.

LOVE the Parker Posey idea! I think thats my favorite for that role. And I really like the idea of Ryan Gosling as Little Charles.

Abigal Breslin came to mind for Jean. I'd like to see her play something dark....

Maybe I'm just on a Parenthood kick but what about Craig T Nielson as the dad? Also, I stand by my suggestion in a much older thread of Patricia Clarkson.

Love the idea of Gwyneth Paltrow as Ivy, I think Naomi Watts would be great too. I'd prefer someone like Debra Messing (whom I believe somethingwicked suggested in a different thread) for Karen. Ryan Gosling would be amazing as Charles but he might be too big of a name to take on the role. I'm so curious to know who they are actually pursuing for the parts. The rumored Julia Roberts is so wrong for Barbara it hurts, and Meryl Streep would be good as Violet but somewhat predictable, I'd just love for Sissy Spaceck to tackle this one.
